We are the Village
Village Behavioral Health (VBH) is a community-based behavioral health and developmental disability service agency committed to providing individuals with the highest quality of emotional, behavioral, and developmental care. We were founded in 2023 by our CEO Dr. Khidhra Poole and our COO Mr. Jimmy Poole out of a desire to provide quality services in the Central Virginia area. Since our start, we have assembled a team of behavioral health professionals who have the education, experience, and training to support individuals in addressing many of life’s most difficult challenges.

Whether a person is exhibiting difficult behaviors that are disruptive to the family, an individual is in crisis, an individual is in need of support with managing activities of daily living or the family finds itself in a challenging situation that they are unprepared to handle alone, we provide a diverse set of services designed to provide support and guidance to the whole family. We truly embody our Purpose, Approach and Values.
Our goals are to

Stabilize and support individual; who may be experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature through our Crisis Stabilization program

Provide adults with individualized training to enable them to achieve and maintain community stability and independence through our Mental Health Skill-building program.

Support individuals who might be going through challenging times with our Outpatient Counseling Services.

Provide support for individuals with ID/DD in a community setting to encourage and build an individual's ability to develop coping skills, exercise self-control, and build self-esteem, self-determination and self-advocacy through our Adult Group Homes.
Person-Centeredness
The VBH Person-Centered Approach refers to our core belief of focusing on the needs of each person to provide a highly customized type of support. The VBH Person-Centered Planning approach is one that emphasizes the unique needs of each person, which we use to guide our supports and services.
